Does anyone know the schools in Texas that offer hospitality management or event planning degrees? It’s hard to find a concise list on the internet. I’m planning on becoming a wedding coordinator, and I would like a major that relates to that (instead of a business, or interior design, or something like that)

P.S. Not to be rude, but I don’t care if you think the school’s program is sub-standard. I’m just needing to know ALL of the choices in texas.

How come people think texas is so uneducated and behind the rest of the US? Don’t they know that some of the biggest and most high tech industry’s are here in Texas? For instance, people know that Texas is a big place for computers, since places like Dell, Apple computers and numerous other computer related companies like that are here? Also, don’t people know that Texas is, at least right now, one of the most financially sound places in the US? Are people just naive?

That’s what their libbie teachers in the superior public education and state-run schools tell them. Maybe it’s good for their self esteems, I dunno.

For the first time in 22 years Texans will now need to evaluate their auto insurance policies to be sure their limits of liability will meet or exceed the state required minimum auto liability insurance requirements.

Texas liability insurance requirements have just been changed. Effective today, April 1, 2008, the minimum amount of automobile liability insurance for Texas drivers will increase from the current $20,000/$40,000/$15,000 (20/40/15) coverage to a new 25/50/25 coverage requirement.

The state of texas will be checking on policyholders with a new Texas Financial Responsibility Verification Program this spring that allows police officers and highway patrol to immediately verify whether a driver has car insurance.

There is no getting around the new Texas liability insurance requirements, and every city and county will be affected by this rate increase.

The new Texas liability insurance requirements are: $25,000 per person minimum for bodily injury liability damages with a 50,000 minimum per occurrence for bodily injury. The required property damage minimum has now been increased to 25,000.

What does this mean in layman’s terms?

1. 25,000 per person means, your carrier may pay up to 25,000 for each individual you cause bodily injury to by way of and automobile accident.

2. 50,000 per occurrence, refers to more than one person suffering bodily injury due to you being negligent or liable in this single automobile accident.

3. 25,000 for property damage, points to the amount your carrier may pay for property damage you cause due to your negligence in a single automobile accident.

Why did this change come about?

In 2007, the 80th Texas legislature amended the law that stipulates Texas automobile liability insurance requirements. The change was made in response to growing concerns that limits to date were insufficient to reach the rising costs of medical treatment and vehicle repair and replacement. The new minimum limits on Texas liability insurance requirements are intended to safeguard the interests of citizens involved in accidents on both sides of the collision.

While the increase may seem exorbitant at face value, it really isn’t that much of a hit to Texas pocketbooks.

The average person can expect to pay only a marginal additional amount on his or her monthly premiums, and most insurance agencies are already factoring in the necessary rates to make the adjustment a smooth transition for their clients.

However, refusing to honor the new Texas minimum liability requirements can result in financial penalties far more costly than an extra ten dollars or so per month.

According to the state’s new financial responsibility law, a first conviction for refusal to upgrade minimum auto liability insurance will result in a fine no less than $175.00 and no more than $350.00.

For some policyholders, this fine would be more than the 3 times the rate increase for the entire year!

Subsequent violations can carry penalties ranging from $350.00 to $1000.00, suspension of your license, and the towing and impounding of your vehicle. This will in turn create the necessity of the dreaded SR-22 filing and even higher rates on your auto insurance.

It is also important to consider that while this mandatory adjustment may be an inconvenience to some, it can be a critical awakening to others. There are many Texans who unfortunately have not reviewed the liability limits of their automobile insurance since their policy was initially purchased. Because of this, many of their assets are dangerously at risk should they be found liable in an automobile accident.

Higher liability insurance requirements protects these assets which may have increased over the years and are vulnerable to loss if a person is ruled at fault.

Please contact your current agency or Texas Auto Home Insurance immediately for a free evaluation of your current policy to ensure you meet with minimum liability insurance requirements and have the best rates possible for your particular vehicle and lifestyle.

What method do the texas state trooper use to calculate body fat if you are over by height and weight standards? Is it the same as the Army uses? I need to be at 23.1% for state trooper and i am at 24% by Army standards just wondering what they use and if i’ll be ok.

How does the revised Texas curriculum plan to disprove separation of church and state as proposed by the founding fathers?

It will be changing historical fact in order to discredit everything by Jefferson, Paine, the federalist papers and instead reinforce the false and misguided ultra right wing notion that this is a Christian nation.

Teaching creationism in school, by the way, is not in the plan, but if it is taught, it will be found to be unconstitutional, as has already been found to be true in state courts around the nation.

If this foolish idea passes muster, then Texas can rejoin the ranks of the least effective school systems in the nation. Something like what the SBOE proposes will certainly allow texas to become the worst school system in the nation, dragging down other school systems when they have to replace textbooks with the lies and garbage that the Texas SBOE proposes.

One of the most popular variations of Poker available online these days, with a huge fan following, is Texas Hold’em. Texas Hold’em is a community game wherein players can use or discard different combination of cards to form a hand. One measure of Texas Hold’ems popularity is the fact that that championship series of this game attracts players from around the world, of all age groups and all walks of life.

The basic instructions on how to play Texas Hold’em are simple and easy to follow.

The game starts with 2 initial cards or “Hole” as they are called. The players have to build up these cards slowly, river cards are laid down as the game progresses and the players build their hands around these.

A player has to preferably make a hand of higher value than the others, where the Royal Flush has the highest value and High Card hand has the lowest. However, the real strategy of Texas Hold’em lies in knowing when to bet and when to fold out of the game.

The most important strategy of any online game, including Texas Hold’em is to know when to exactly fold. folding means that you are withdrawing your cards and will not make further bets. You lose the hand, and the money you’ve already placed, but you prevent yourself from losing anymore. Keep your reserves safe by knowing when to quit.

On any Texas Hold’em game you will find 3 sub-variations of the game; pot-limit, no limit and limit games. In pot limit, players have to raise the amount of betting to equal the money in the pot. In no limit games players can raise bets anytime and to any amount. In limit poker, the minimum amount of bets or betting units is established before the game even begins

Knowing the strength of your starting hand is an essential component in the game. The strength of the two cards you are dealt with at the start of each game. With 52 cards in a deck, there is an amazing 1326 possible combinations for hole cards. However, hole cards can be consolidated to ‘pairs’, ’suited’ and ‘not suited’ to reduce starting hands to 169 combinations.

To become a more skilled player, you can develop your own personal texas Hold’em Strategy by determining the strength of your starting hand, based the hand rankings. Software-based poker calculators, hand-held poker calculators and charts which are all available online, and can really be a saving grace.

As you become a more experienced player, your strategy will develop, soon enough you will be able to act quickly and decisively. Most new players follow the technique of playing the top twenty hands, and raise pre-flop with the top ten. A variety of hands in the top 40 rankings can be played with ways pre-flop, depending on whether there has already been a raise and or if you are looking to call a raise, re-raise or limp in.

How much of a difference does it make to go to Texas Tech University verse another college such as the University of Texas? I am thinking about double majoring in business management and economics and minoring in psychology. Then going to either Law school or getting a masters in business management depending on my interests. I like texas Tech better than UT because my sister goes there and I like the environment. I can get into both colleges so admission is not an issue. Thanks!

UT is a much more recognized school in state and out of state with much higher academic standards. Unless you truly love Texas Tech and couldn’t imagine going anywhere else, i suggest you go to UT.
