I have Honda Accord 1998. When I accelerate initially it goes a little back and forth (jerks) . I need to show it to a mechanic. It looks like a transmission problem since it has some delay in picking up the speed. Which mechanic shop you suggest in Houston, TX for this kind of problem?

I’ve seen the exteriors and interiors of several houses throughout West and South texas, and they all seem to follow the same pattern: One-storey bungalows, with wood-panelling in many rooms, and relatively low ceilings. Why are many built in this fashion - is it a particular architectural/cultural style? Are there many two-storey houses in Texas?

You have your big house builders who are across the state and thus use the same building designs over and over. Also it is a matter of "what works". Just like up north they have a certain way of doing things that include basements or crawl spaces depending on the frost line. You also have HISTORICAL styling in play as well. In the Northeast you have this long but thin style. Well down here the use of brick is huge. One part is the durability and protective values of brick. Also in the pre-A/C times the use of Brick also had to do with keeping the home cool. The brick absorbs the cold of the night and then as the day comes the brick keeps the home cool and then at night it releases the heat and helps keep the house warm.

I have lived in austin Texas area long time. Being a senior with some health problems would like to move to a less humidity state. Like to move to Arizona but don,t know if my benifit amounts would decrease in my social security and ssi.What we call Medicaid in texas is it the same in Arizona?

Nobody that does not work in those departments can give you a solid answer on this. You really have to wait till monday and call them.

Planning a trip late January to Colorado. I have a front wheel drive sedan in houston and it’s got normal Yokohama tires on them with only 20K miles on them. Is the trip safe with my normal tires for this time of year? Any additional suggestions would be helpful, Thanks!

I just made the trip myself. Except from Colorado to San Antonio. I live in Colorado and the weather is supposed to be good for the next week with temps in the 40’s. The roads should be fine. As for your tires, they will work good in the snow should you encounter any. Just remember to drive slow, mind your surroundings, and brake with a soft foot. No sudden corrections. To get the best performance over the 1000 or so miles you are going to drive, make sure the tires are inflated to the proper air pressure. Tires should be checked at least once a month anyway. Have a good drive and enjoy Colorado!

We are planning a trip to new york in march. We are leaving from Houston texas. Can I rent a car in houston and turn it in in New York? We plan on catching a plan back.

You can, but it will cost a lot more than returning it in Houston.
